My anonymous SMS didn't go out
The form blocks the send or displays an error.
When sending fails right inside the form, the cause is almost always local: how the number was entered, the content of the text, or an authorisation that has already been used. This situation has nothing to do with a message that left the masked number but never reached the recipient, a topic covered on another page.
The causes, from the most common to the rarest
- 1
The number entered is not a valid French mobile
Only ten-digit numbers starting with 06 or 07 are accepted. A landline, an international notation with +33 or a stray space is enough to block verification before the anonymous send even happens.
- 2
The text becomes empty once converted
Any character missing from the GSM-7 alphabet is transformed or removed before departure. A message reduced to emojis or written in a non-Latin alphabet can empty itself entirely, and an empty message is not routed.
- 3
The confirmation authorisation has already been used
Each confirmation is valid for a single send only. Reloading the tab or clicking twice exhausts this token, so the second attempt is rejected.
- 4
The anonymous gateway did not respond
More rarely, the shared gateway number is momentarily unavailable. The form prefers to state this clearly rather than let you believe the send succeeded.
Steps to follow
- 1
Check the format of the number
Ten digits, an 06 or 07 prefix, no space and no foreign dialling code. Delete anything that may have been pasted from an address book or a contact card.
- 2
Re-read the message using the counter
The character counter reveals what your text actually becomes: if almost nothing remains after conversion, rewrite it in simple Latin letters.
- 3
Start again from the form, without refreshing
Relaunch a send from the home page instead of refreshing the confirmation screen, which would cancel the authorisation token.
- 4
Try again after a short delay
If the error comes back over several attempts with a number you know is correct, the problem is on our side: the contact form is exactly what to use to report it to us.
Commonly asked questions
Q01Is it possible to send to a landline?
No. Routing is limited to French mobiles whose number starts with 06 or 07.
Q02Why is a text full of emojis rejected?
Emojis disappear when converting to the GSM-7 alphabet; if no valid character remains, the message ends up empty and therefore cannot go out.
