We draw on the open data published by ARCEP (the French telecoms regulator) to trace how usage has evolved — SMS, voice, data, mobile subscriptions — and to map mobile antennas territory by territory. Every page is filterable and periodically refreshed from the source.

The annual series come from ARCEP's Observatory of electronic communications; the mobile antennas from the "Mon réseau mobile" survey (sites providing a mobile service). A single site can carry several technologies (2G to 5G). These figures describe deployment, not the quality experienced on the ground. Data published under the Open Licence / Etalab 2.0.
