Opt-out mirrors opt-in: everyone must be able, at any moment, to stop receiving messages, without complication and free of charge.
In SMS, this translates into a withdrawal notice — most often "STOP" accompanied by a short code. The request must be honoured without delay, and its presence is mandatory in any canvassing message.
