The fake training account scam

This message warns you that your training rights are about to vanish, or offers to "unlock" them before they evaporate. This scam has a peculiarity that makes it easier to settle than all the others: since the law of 19 December 2022, commercial cold-calling targeting the personal training account is purely and simply prohibited. No message of this kind can therefore be legitimate.

How this scam works

The crook seeks to get hold of your login credentials for the public service, then to have your rights pay for a fictitious or worthless training course, delivered by a complicit provider. Unlike other frauds, you don't lose money from your bank account: you lose acquired rights, something often discovered far too late. The expiry argument is moreover a lie, since these rights are subject to no such deadline.

How to spot it

• Receiving the slightest commercial solicitation on the subject is enough to raise the alarm: it's been banned since 2022.
• The message waves an imminent expiry of your rights, which corresponds to no real rule.
• You're offered to "unlock" or convert your rights into money, which is impossible.
• You're asked for your login credentials for the public service, which no one should hold.

What to do after receiving this message

   Pass the message over in silence

   Since cold-calling is prohibited, there's nothing to check: no solicitation of this kind can be legitimate.

   Log in by typing the address yourself, and make sure no training file has been opened without your knowledge.
