Aim for the right window

Networks get congested around midnight on 31 December, and a message launched at that instant can arrive very late. Mid-morning on 1 January is safer, and your message doesn't get lost in the wave.

One personal line changes everything

A generic wish is spotted at once. Add a single reference to the person, a project they told you about or a memory from the year, and the message takes on a whole other value.
